Using the latest digital electronics and acoustic Compressed High Intensity Radar Pulse (CHIRP) and digital-signal-processing (DSP) techniques, StarFish systems offer greater image and range resolution compared to conventional fixed-frequency side scan sonars. It is through the application of these techniques, which enables StarFish Seabed Imaging Systems to detect small, closely spaced targets at far greater distances than conventional style frequency, monotonic systems. The superior high quality images StarFish Seabed Imaging Systems can produce make the range very affordable as a low-cost side scan sonar option, compared to many of the larger and more expensive commercial side scan sonar systems.
